Othello man dies in Sunnyside wreck

SUNNYSIDE - An Othello man was killed in a rollover crash just after midnight Tuesday.

The victim was identified Thursday as Agustin Ramos Gomez, 30, by the State Patrol.

According to reports, Ramos Gomez was driving south on state Route 241, about seven miles north of Sunnyside, in a 1990 Mercury Cougar.

He reportedly drove off the road at a high rate of speed, causing the vehicle to roll several times.

At one point, Ramos Gomez was ejected from the vehicle, which came to rest on the westbound shoulder, according to the State Patrol. He died at the scene.

Ramos Gomez was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

The State Patrol has not determined if alcohol or drugs were a factor. The incident is still under investigation.
