Soap Lake man survives shotgun blast

EPHRATA - A Soap Lake man suffered minor injuries after he was reportedly shot in the chest with a shotgun Sunday night in Ephrata.

Police named Robert Stark, 37, from Ephrata, a person of interest in the incident and are looking to contact him, according to City Administrator Wes Crago.

About 6:30 p.m., Ephrata police responded to a home in the 100 block of Basin Street Southwest for reports of a gunshot victim.

Officers located Alfredo Leonell Silva, 20, following a short foot pursuit, according to police records. Investigators determined Silva was shot at a home in the 400 block of Basin Street Northwest.

He was treated for superficial gunshot wounds at Columbia Basin Hospital in Ephrata.

Following his release, Silva was arrested on a state Department of Corrections warrant and booked into Grant County Jail.

He is reportedly refusing to cooperate in the investigation, according to police records.

Crago said more information on the incident will be released at a later time.
