Quincy man injured in hit-and-run accident

QUINCY – A 44 year old Quincy man was injured on Wednesday, Aug. 7, when he crashed the car he was driving in an alleged hit-and-run accident seven miles south of Quincy on Highway 281.

According to the Washington State Patrol, the accident occurred at around midnight. Drugs or alcohol were involved, the State Patrol said. A safety restraint was in use.

According to the WSP, Leroy Timothy Wood was driving a 2008 Dodge Avenger 4-door southbound on 281. He lost control of the vehicle, and it left the roadway to the left. It rolled several times and came to rest on its wheels in a field.

The car finished in a pea field and did damage to a crop. The incident became a hit-and-run, the WSP said, after the driver left the scene.

Wood was found injured north of the accident scene. He was transported by ambulance went to Quincy Valley Medical Center.
