MOSES LAKE - Buckle your seatbelts because the 2013 KWIQ Moses Lake Demolition Derby starts Wednesday night at the Grant County Fairgrounds.

Spectators will be treated to high-speed racing and bone-jarring collisions.

Gates open at 3:30 p.m. with time trials beginning at 6:30 p.m. Those desiring a good view of the action should arrive some time around 6 p.m. because soon after seats in the arena will be hard to come by.

"The demo derby is standing room only here," Marketing Specialist Sue Tebow said. "It's just packed."

After time trials are completed, heat races are scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m.

Other events include lap races and pass and out with the night culminating with the last car running demolition derby.

"It's just a loud, rip-roaring crowd," Tebow said. "It's just a huge party out here."

Tickets for the demo derby can be purchased at www.moseslakeroundup.com with adult tickets costing $15 and child tickets costing $5.

The derby, described as a Moses Lake phenomenon, will have cars sliding, spinning, rolling and crashing until late Wednesday evening.
