Amelia M. Hernandez

Our beloved mother, Amelia M. Hernandez, a longtime resident of Moses Lake slipped peacefully from this earth into the waiting arms of our Lord on August 7, 2013. Viewing will be held from 9 to 10 a.m., Monday, July 12th at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 200 N. Dale Road followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Interment will be at Pioneer Memorial Gardens. Born in Rio Escondido, Coahuila, Mexico to Nicolas and Julia Mata on July 10, 1925. She met and married Nieves T. Hernandez after a ten year courtship on September 8, 1956. They traveled between Washington state and Mexico and after their third child settled in Moses Lake, WA in the early 1960's where they raised seven children. A devout Catholic she enjoyed her family, friends, sewing, cooking, crocheting, quilting and gardening. She is preceded in death by her sister Maria Mata, her parents, her brother, Enrique Mata and her husband, Nieves.

She is survived by her children Angelica Hernandez-Cordero and husband Bart of Seattle, WA, Nieves, Mary Moschner and husband Tom, Yolanda, Reynaldo, Rosa Boggs and husband Alex, Sally and her grandchildren Nicholas Moschner, Marivel Rocha, Daniel Moschner, Gabriel Rocha, Michael Boggs, Julia Cordero and Alyssa Boggs.
