Gertrude May Knopp
Gertrude was born December 26, 1916 to Fred and Lura Harris.
She passed away on Friday, August 2, 2013 at age 96.
She graduated from Pasco High School 1936. She married Ralph Knopp Dec. 26, 1939 they lived in Wilson Creek, WA. from 1939-1945. In October 1945 they moved to Colville, WA. They raised their 11 children on the family dairy farm. From 1979-2007 they lived in Warden and Moses Lake area, (Her husband passed away in 2002). From 2007 to present time Gertrude resided at Eagle Assisted Living in Richland, Wa. She was passionate about gardening and farming.
She is survived by Laura and Gary Hills of Lone Pine,Mt., Lloyd and Mary Ann Knopp of Moses Lake, WA, Ruth and Jim Harpe of Milton-Freewater, OR, Merle and Bonnie Knopp of Burbank, WA, Gordon and Joyce Knopp of Ephrata, WA, Martha and Rich Wise of Imbler, OR, Ethel Knopp of Kennewick, WA, Paul and Rene Knopp of Delta Junction, AK, Geneva Welke, of Stayton, OR, Eileen and Jon Nap of Deer Park, WA, and Lowell and Carol Knopp of La Grande, OR.
Gertrude is also survived by 32 grandchildren, 63 great- grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
She has sisters: Lucille Olsen, Mary Ketchersid, and brother, Alvin and Fern Harris, all of Pasco, WA.
She is preceded in death by parents; Fred and Lura Harris; husband, Ralph Knopp; brothers, Wallace and William Harris, and granddaughter Susann Knopp.
There will be visitation and viewing at Einan's Funeral Home in Richland on Saturday, August 10 from 6:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. and Sunday, August 11, 2013 from 2:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m.
Funeral will be held in Ephrata, Monday, August 12, at 11 a.m. at ERC Bldg. (112 Basin St. SW.) There will be a potluck luncheon immediately following service at the same hall.
Graveside service and burial will take place at 3 p.m. in the Wilson Creek Cemetery. There will be parking attendants at entrance to assist in parking. Einan's Funeral Home (Richland) is handling funeral arrangements
