Garrett Harrison Westerman

| August 9, 2013 6:00 AM

Garrett Harrison Westerman, 28, of Moses Lake, was granted his angel wings on Saturday, August 3, 2013.

He was born in Wenatchee, WA on December 13, 1984, to Garry Westerman and Kathleen Collins. He graduated from Moses Lake High School in 2003, and received his Associate's Degree in 2006 from Big Bend Community College.

In high school his time was spent on the football field, where he was able to use his determination for success. He also enjoyed snowboarding, kayaking, and cooking. Garrett loved nature and the outdoors.

In 2006 while working at Michael's on the Lake, Garrett met the love of his life, Deena. They were married in 2008.

He began working at Genie Industries in 2006, and received multiple promotions to eventually become a Fabrication Supervisor. He enjoyed the challenges of work and thrived on the ability to overcome obstacles.

On the weekends you could find him with his Dad, working on a Harley, Chevy, or a vintage Benz. He had a special interest in diesel engines, and loved to fix things up.

Garrett's ultimate devotion was showing love to his family. He had a special relationship with his Grandmother Mary, and was always available for anything she needed. He was extremely thoughtful, considerate, and attentive of his loved ones. In the winter, Garrett would frequently shovel snow from the driveways for Grandma, In-Laws, Uncle In-Law, and even the church, all before anyone had gotten out of bed. They would wake up to see it had been taken care of, but without any request for recognition.

Garrett was strong-willed and ambitious. He thrived on staying busy and always wanted to accomplish more. He brought a passion and intensity to anything he would take on. He treated everyone with respect and his dignity will live on as part of his legacy.

Garrett was known for always having his cup of green tea in his hand.

He is survived by his beloved wife Deena Westerman (Farag) of Moses Lake, Father Garry Westerman of Moses Lake, Grandmother Mary Westerman of Moses Lake, Aunt Nancy Wilkie (Westerman) of Redmond, Aunt Eleanor Hackler (Westerman) of Bellevue, Mother Kathy Collins of Spokane, Sister Jenny Huack of Spokane, Sister Rachael Prentice of Moses Lake, In-Laws Nabil and Sonia Farag of Moses Lake, Sister-In-Law Maggie Farag, and Brother-In-Law Michael Farag.
