GOP picnic in September

| August 5, 2013 6:00 AM

MOSES LAKE – The Grant County Republican Party's annual picnic will be held in Moses Lake on Sept. 14.

It will be held in the spacious, beautiful backyard of Gary Chandler's home at 4488 Dunn St. NE.

“We'd really like to see a wide range of ages and backgrounds,” County Chairman Kimber Lybbert said.

Lybbert plans to encourage this by offering prizes for the oldest and youngest attendees and for the newest and oldest residents of Grant County in attendance.

“Bring your entire family and your newest neighbors. It should be a great afternoon,” she said. “Our goal is simple: let's build some friendships and get to know more of our neighbors.”

Socializing will start at around 1 p.m. and food will be served at 2 p.m. At 2:15 there will be an Olympia update from elected officials.

Charley Root, cowboy singer, will bring his guitar. He invites others to bring their guitars and join in.

Participation is free, and the food is provided. Those who wish to donate to the cause or bring their favorite cookies are encouraged to do so.
