GOP booth at fairgrounds upgraded

MOSES LAKE - The Grant County Republican Party had its precinct committee officer meeting at the Grant County fair booth recently, and everyone was surprised by the upgrades.

“It looked fantastic,” said County Chairman Kimber Lybbert.

Ann Mix, Dave Bolton, Ivan Schultz, Tony Schneider, Brent Bishop, Linda Bishop, Rita Frey and Pat Weber put in countless hours repairing damaged siding, trimming out doors, painting, cleaning, rewiring, organizing, cleaning up leaves outside, and putting up various decorations and bunting.

“They have truly worked a miracle,” Lybbert said. “I would encourage you to thank them.”

At the same time, Lybbert put out a call for volunteers to help August 13-17 during the fair. She invites conservative candidates for office who would like to spread their message at the fair.

“Right now, we are looking for volunteers to help staff the booth, and possibly a popcorn popper or someone who knows how to repair the one we have,” Lybbert said. “We are also looking for additional ideas for kid activities and/or take-home items (GOP themed stickers or small toys). If anyone has ideas or sources, please let us know.”
