The fishing at Potholes just seems to get better as summer goes by. The largemouth Bass fisherman who get up and are fishing by 6 a.m. are having a great year in the dunes. The spring frog is the top water lure of choice for fishing the large vegetation mats that are forming as water goes down. As the water lowers the points and huts will even get better for spinner baits and senko's.

Smallmouth Bass are on the dam and in the Lind Coulee rocks, 4 inch grubs, rooster tails and crank bait are taking these hard fighting fish in great numbers. They are a great fish to keep and eat (we also have too many in our system).

Goose Island has been best for Walleye, trolling spinners and slow death hooks in 14 to 25 ft of water is the ticket. These setups will also catch you trout, perch & bass in that area. The State Park and Mardon Dock are producing perch in numbers that are great! The whole lake is alive with perch and some nice sizes are being taken. Trout fishing is good along Medicare Beach, State Park and the face of the dunes, Trout from 2-6 lbs are common trolling needle-fish-shad-raps and DC-13 at about 2.5 mph, and set your drag light (these fish really pull)

For catfish fishers-now is the time. Our water temperature is 72-80 degrees which really brings on the bite. Frenchman's Wasteway & Lind Coulee is putting out good numbers of this tasty fish.

As fall approaches our fishing will get even better as water temperatures cool, so enjoy the lake while you can and while the fishing so well. Call the MarDon Tackle Store for more details at (509) 346-2651.
