The 34th Potholes Open Bass Fishing Tournament, organized by the Moses Lake Bass Club, was very tough fishing this year. Surface water temperatures were as low as 44 degrees and up to 54 degrees in some places. The water temp's combined with high winds made catching bass very challenging.

The big fish of the tournament weighed in at 7.38 lbs and was a largemouth bass.

The winners of the tournament this year were the Boyd's from Eugene Oregon with a 2 day combined total weight of 30.63lbs.

Walleye action on Potholes Reservoir continues to be slow with some limits reported in the Lind Coulee Area, the Crab Creek Boat Launch and the Moses Lake Spillway. With the finish of the full moon the walleye bite will only improve. After the full moon and the walleye spawn marble eye action will be on fire!

Above average trout continue to show from many seep lakes below O'Sullivan Dam. As of April 25, 2013 the underwater swim beach at Mardon Resort continues to look like an aquarium with spawning rainbow trout.
