Two dead in fatal accident

EPHRATA - Two men were killed overnight alongside Dodson Road south of Ephrata.

Grant County sheriff's officials confirmed the deaths Monday morning. The Grant County Coroner's Office currently has possession of the bodies and will release identities once confirmed and next of kin was reported.

Sheriff's spokesman Kyle Foreman said that a vehicle left the roadway while traveling northbound on Dodson Road near Road 4. The vehicle struck a utility pole and landed on its top in a nearby irrigation canal.

Two adult males were pronounced dead at the scene, Foreman said. Dodson Road was closed Monday morning while the investigation continued.

The wreck was reported around 6:30 a.m. when drivers and residents reported the downed pole.
