Vikings drops match to Blue Mountain

MOSES LAKE - Big Bend Community College volleyball was hoping to get back on the winning track last night as the Vikings hosted Blue Mountain Community College.
But the Timberwolves played an uncooperative opponent as the visitors from Pendleton turned back BBCC in three sets (25-12, 25-11, 25-17).
"I thought the girls played well against the No. 1 team in our region," coach Natalie Coulston said. "I feel like we've taken a step forward in the program and hope we continue to improve."
Blue Mountain is undefeated (5-0) in league play and is tied for first with Walla Walla in the NWACC East standings.
The loss for the Vikings drops their record to 1-4 in conference play and 2-14 overall and lands BBCC in a tie for fifth place with Columbia Basin Community College.
Katie Reeder led the attack for the Vikings with seven kills. Kayla Curtsinger added five kills, Katie Demarest had three kills and McKall Miller and Brooke Brown finished with two kills each. BBCC had 11 blocks for the match.
The Vikings are back on the court Friday when the team travels to Wenatchee Valley Community College to match up against the Knights.
"Wenatchee is a good team and is currently in third place in the standings," Coulston said. "But I think we'll be going into the game with a lot of confidence and will be ready to play."
