Marvin was born on September 19, 1932 in McAlester, Oklahoma, to Melvin and Ethel Pace. Marvin was raised in McAlester, leaving school at an early age to work and help the family. At the age of 16 he moved to Moses Lake with his sister. In 1950 he met Joan Early, they were married later that year. He ran the tire store until he sold it to Les Schwab in 1997. After the sale Marvin "retired" and began the next adventure of his life, horses. He bred and raised quarter horses and thoroughbred horses. He was an "owner/trainer" for both and traveled throughout the state of Washington with Joan, racing. He was an avid horseman and always enjoyed the camaraderie at the racetrack. Marvin and Joan sold their farm in 2005 and moved into town where he worked in his yard and pursued his life long passion for fishing. Marvin was a member of the Adams Co. Sheriff's Posse and the Adams County Rodeo Association. He enjoyed getting together with friends and working on team roping. He will be remembered as a loving and caring husband and father, and was known as an honest and respectful businessman who worked hard at whatever he was doing.
