Reader advocates for good foreign policy

| September 21, 2012 6:00 AM

"Foreign policy," "domestic policy," "democracy," "Constitutional Republic," and "respect." Random words, or should we have great concern regarding what these words represent?

If you don't know the current foreign policy of the United States, don't feel you are alone. It seems that our current foreign policy is to destroy all faith and trust in the United States. The failure of Congress to pass a budget during the past three years, as required by the US Constitution, makes a mockery of our adherence to Law. Our domestic policy seems to be mix of "let the Federal Reserve print fiat money to give to the public in hope of buying votes so we get reelected," and "tax the rich." We have degenerated into a democracy from having once been a Constitutional Republic that respected property rights and the value of the citizens! Our current domestic policies are bankrupting city governments. Will we soon have bankrupt States?

The efforts of the current Federal Government to disembowel our military strength is a prime factor as to why our country has lost the respect that it once had both during and after the Second World War.

One current candidate for President earned worldwide respect when he oversaw the 2002 Winter Olympics. He earned the respect of thousands of employees who now work in companies that received help due to his business knowledge and experience. He knows that he will never be an all powerful leader, but simply a person who understands the principles behind the US Constitution, and the sacrifices of those who created it. Leadership must come from intelligence, practical experience, a lifelong knowledge of our nation's history, and a full respect for the Oath of Office that is given not just to the Sovereign People of this Nation, but also our Creator!
