CBSS drops match to MLCA

| September 21, 2012 6:00 AM

MOSES LAKE - The Columbia Basin Secondary School (CBSS) volleyball team is making big strides this season, but is still struggling to put together wins.

The Phoenix did, however, give with the Moses Lake Christian Academy (MLCA) Lions all they could handle Tuesday night, but unfortunately game up on the short end of the scoreboard as they dropped the match in three sets (25-20, 25-16, 25-21).

"We've made some great improvements in our basic skills and plays on the court, but we are struggling from the serve line," coach Terri Pixlee said. "We lost one of our seasoned players, Emilee Hieronymus early in the game to injury and were forced to go to a back up setter and change the lineup. But Crystal Lloyd continues to lead our young team with some very good results."

CBSS is back in action tonight when the Phoenix host the Wilson Creek Devils at 5:30 p.m.
