ACH rolls past Entiat

COULEE CITY - Mitchell Hunt, Jon Heathman and Drew Isaak scored two touchdowns each to lead the Almira/Coulee-Hartline (ACH) Warriors to a 52-20 home win over Entiat Friday.

The win improves ACH to 2-0 in league play and 2-1 overall.

"This was a good win for us," coach Brandon Walsh said. "We got off to a good start ... it was important we played well because we needed a confidence boost after getting shut out last week."

The Warriors got off to a fast start indeed as ACH hung 38 points on the board in the first 12 minutes of action. Hunt scored first on a 35-yard run (Isaak 2-point run) to put the Warriors up 8-0. Heathman teamed up with Isaak on a 30-yard pitch and catch (2-point Jeff Gallher) for ACH's second score to increase the lead to 16-0. Hunt ran a punt back 49 yards (2-point Isaak) for the teams third touchdown to make it 24-0. Heathman recorded his second TD (Isaak run) to push the score to 32-0, and Isaak punched the ball in from the Tigers 1-yardline (run failed) to round out the first quarter scoring 38-0.

Entiat scored the only points of the second quarter and trailed 38-8 at the half.

"We kind of backed off in the second quarter and starting substituting a lot on defense," Walsh said. "Entiat started playing better ... ran the ball more and was able to put a score on the board."

Both teams found the end zone in the third quarter (Isaak keeper from 3-yards out) to bring the score to 44-14 in favor of the Warriors. Hunt scored his third touchdown of the game on a 33-yard run (Thunder Wellhausen) in the fourth quarter to make it 52-14. A Tiger score brought the final tally to 52-20.

"The guys turned in a good overall effort," Walsh said. "When we were watching film this week we talked a lot about staying focused through the entire game, The kids were embarrassed in the loss to Liberty Christian and really wanted to make sure it didn't happen again."

Next up for the Warriors is a road game against Columbia-Inchelium Friday.

"We expect this to be a tough game," Walsh said. "Their program has had a couple of down years, but they are a hard hitting team with solid fundamentals that always seem to give us one of the toughest non league games of the season."
