Kleyn, Own, Burke, Brissey win women's golf exchange

CRESCENT BAR – Members of Colockum Ridge and Sun Country joined two from Crescent Bar to win first place at the annual Women's Golf Exchange at the Crescent Bar Golf Course on Sept. 11.

The Exchange was organized by the Crescent Bar Women's Club. It attracted 40 players who dined together after the competition.

“A very big thank you to the ladies club,” said special events and exchange coordinator Carol Prinzen.

“We started out a little cold weather-wise, but it warmed up nicely for a great day of golf,” she added.

Lunch at the Crescent Bar Activity Center, with Crescent Bar BQ catering the event, included pork, beef and chicken sliders with potato salad, three-bean salad, cole slaw and baked beans. The ladies club provided the dessert and beverages.

The clubs represented were Crescent Bar, Colockum Ridge (Quincy), Lakeview (Soap Lake), Sage Hills (Warden) and Sun Country (Cle Elum).

The first place winners were Tressa Kleyn (Crescent Bar) Mary Owen (Sun Country) Karen Burke (Lakeview) and Vickie Brissey (Crescent Bar).

Taking second place was the group of Estella Lopez ( Sage Hills) Lyn Murray (Crescent Bar) Carol Prinzen (Crescent Bar) and June Jones (Sun Country).

Third place was won by Mavis Bennett (Crescent Bar) and Phyllis Wood (Colockum Ridge).

The long drive team winners were Carol Prinzen (Crescent Bar) Lyn Murray (Crescent Bar) June Jones (Sun Country) and Estella Lopez (Sage Hills) with Lopez stroking the long drive.

The KP winners were Margaret Linder (Crescent Bar) Judy Oldfather (Colockum Ridge) Ardy Biggs (Lakeview) and Laurie Leahy (Crescent Bar). The shot, which finished 11-7 from the hole, was struck by Oldfather.

The long putt winners were Tressa Kleyn ( Crescent Bar) Mary Owen (Sun Country) Vickie Brissey (Crescent Bar) and Karen Burke (Lakeview) with Karen Burke making the longest putt for the team at 27-8.
