MOSES LAKE - The Big Bend Community College (BBCC) volleyball team has hit a bump in the road in the early goings of the season as the Vikings have lost their last seven matches in a row.

The skid started off with back to back home losses Sept. 12 and 13, and continued with five losses at the Spokane Crossover Tournament over the weekend.

BBCC dropped the first match at home to Community College of Spokane in three sets (25-12, 25-11, 25-13). The Vikings had inconsistent play at the net with 21 attack errors.

BBCC dropped the second match at home to Umpqua Community College in three sets as well (25-17, 25-22, 25-18).

On Friday, September 14, BBCC hit the road for the two-day tournament in Spokane and found the going rough there too as the team left without a win.

The Vikings played three matches on day one. BBCC lost to Clark Community College in four sets (22-25, 25-16, 21-14, 25-19) to begin play. The team dropped its second match to Bellevue Community College in three sets (25-16, 25-19, 25-14), then lost to Pierce Community College in four sets (19-25, 25-17, 25-19, 25-19) to end the days competition.

On Saturday, the Vikings began the day with a competitive scruff against Treasure Valley Community College, but dropped the contest in four sets (26-24, 25-18, 22-25, 25-15). BBCC ended the tournament without a win with a hard-fought loss to Clackamas in five sets (25-20, 25-27, 25-13, 20-25, 15-11).

Although the Vikings are winless in their last seven matches, the team is still 1-1 in league play. BBCC is 2-11 overall.

The Vikings are back in action Sept. 19 when they travel to Yakima Valley Community College to match up with the Yaks.
