CRESCENT BAR - Wes and Carol Prinzen went to the island of Kauai in the state of Hawaii in July for a 50th wedding anniversary honeymoon, and Carol says it was "much better" than the first.

The Prinzens, residents of North Park, were married on July 14, 1962 in Everett. Due to the fact Wes needed to work two days later, their honeymoon that time was a one-night motel stay.

"We were being like kids," Carol said about this trip.

Probably the most kid-like thing the Prinzens did was a 13-mile bicycle ride to the bottom of Wiamea Canyon. It was a breath-taking single file ride by 14 bikers and a guide.

The legs were "fine" at the end, Carol said. There was pedaling only a couple of brief moments. Mostly it was braking.

"I wore out one set of brakes," Wes said.
