KITTITAS - The Cougar volleyball team hit the road Thursday to take on the Kittitas Coyotes and came a way with a four set (25-20, 24-26, 25-8, 25-21) victory.

Iris Rodriguez led the Warden attack with 13 kills, five serving aces (19/20), 23 digs, and two kill blocks. Hannah Bisnett added seven kills and 14 blocks (four kill blocks and 10 controlled blocks), and Abby Richins finished with 18 assists, three service aces (18/19)and eight digs for the Cougars.

"This was the team's first match," coach Dennis Treat said. "The girls played very well. Our serve receive was very good for an early season match. We made some mistakes in game two of the match ... had four missed serves and seven spiking errors ... but we made a good comeback being down 24-19 to tie the game at 24 to give us a chance to win."

The Cougars are back on the court tonight when Warden hosts KI-BE at 5:30 p.m.
