One hospitalized after Sunday wreck in Quincy

QUINCY - A Royal City man was injured Sunday night in a car wreck four miles west of Quincy.

The Washington State Patrol reports that Raul Marmolejo, 58, of Royal City, entered state Route 28 headed east just before 9 p.m. Sunday evening.

At the same time, Andres Jimenez Candido, 39, of Rock Island, was headed west on the road in a 1988 Cadillac De Ville.

According to reports, Marmolejo crossed his 2003 Chrysler Sebring into the westbound lane, where he and Jimenez Candido collided head on.

Both men were reported injured and transported to Quincy Valley Medical Center in Quincy.

Marmolejo was treated and released. Jimenez Candido was admitted and listed in stable condition as of Monday.

Both vehicles were reported a total loss and towed from the scene.

The patrol cited both men with driving under the influence.
