Man hurt in ATV roll-over

ROYAL CITY - A Union Gap man was injured Saturday, August 25, in the evening when the all terrain vehicle he was driving rolled off a highway near here.

Guy L. Richmond, 72, was driving the ATV in a westward direction on the eastbound shoulder of Highway 262 around 7:30 p.m. and lost control trying to cross the roadway.

According to the Washington State Patrol, Richmond attempted to cross the roadway 12 miles east of Royal City. There he lost control of the vehicle.

The ATV rolled and came to rest on Road F Southeast. Richmond suffered injuries and was transported to Samaritan Healthcare in Moses Lake. His damaged 2000 Polaris ATV was towed from the scene.

Drugs or alcohol were a factor in the wreck, the state patrol said, and Richmond was cited for DUI.
