"Pippi" aka "Betty Boop"

On August 31, 2012, at the age of 83, The Lord took back one of his most precious earth angels.

She died peacefully at home with her dog Toto by her side.

Betty was born the only child to Solomon and Christina Ochs in Colfax, Washington on October 30, 1928.

She spent most of her life residing in Moses Lake, Washington.

She later went on to marry and have 4 children she adored. Barbara Richards, Jimmy Pippins, Judy Pippins and Gloria Robbins all of Moses Lake, Washington.

Betty was a nurse at Samaritan Hospital for 38 years. She mainly worked on the OB and Med/Surg Departments. She would always go in extra if help was needed and nicknamed "Betty Boop" by many of her coworkers. Betty also did Janitorial Service for 25 plus years at some local businesses.

She always said nursing was God's work.

Two of her daughters and one granddaughter followed her chosen career. Betty was very proud of her entire family.

She had 9 grandchildren. Shawn Justice of Florida, Sherry Fair of Yakima, Jeff Pippins of Wenatchee, Ronelle Osborne, Moses Lake, Tonya Kelly of Spokane, Mike Pippins of Tri-Cities, Tosha Knopp, Post Falls, Idaho, Jeremy Pippins of Seattle and Josh Knopp of Moses Lake.

She had 20 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Brooklyn and Pippi had a standing lunch and play date every Friday.

Betty loved to garden, cook and can. No one could ever leave her home hungry. Thanksgiving being her favorite family Holiday.

She was loved by everyone and had many lifelong friendships. Her kind compassionate spirit and contagious smile touched many people's lives.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

We give thanks to God for allowing us the privilege of having her for our mother and grandmother.

We thank all her friends, family and Dr. Earl for all they have done for her over the years. A special thank you to the staff at Samaritan Hospital, the Wride Family, Darrell and Paul Templeton and her Aunt Betty.

God will bless every one of you.

We know she is dancing with angels and will forever be in our hearts!
