BBCC volleyball has rough outing

WALLA WALLA - It wasn't a very successful trip to the Walla Walla Community College Tournament for the Big Bend Community College (BBCC) volleyball team over the weekend as the Vikings dropped four of five matches.
BBCC opened the tournament Friday with a two set (25-12, 25-20) loss to Clackamas, then was turned back by Linn-Benton (25-19, 25-17) in game two. The Vikings ended the day with a two set loss (25-9, 25-13) in their third match to Umpqua Community College.
BBCC bounced back with a two set (25-20, 25-17) win against Chemeketa in game one Saturday, but lost its last match of the tournament to Mt. Hood in two sets (25-17, 25-17).
"We played some very good teams and played them tough," coach Natalie Coulston said. "We showed a lot of heart and fight."
The Vikings are back in action tomorrow night when BBCC hosts Spokane Community College at 6 p.m. BBCC plays Umpqua at home Thursday at 6.
