Hurshal George Powers

| September 8, 2012 6:00 AM

Hurshal George Powers was born October 8, 1933 in Vona, Colorado.  He met his bride Rosemary in Warden, Washington where they married December 9, 1956.  Hurshal graduated from the University of Denver and was a licensed professional engineer specializing in nuclear fuel assembly design until retirement.  He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2002 and survived by God's amazing grace and successful medical intervention.

Hurshal enjoyed rock hunting, RV trips, and music.  He was an avid reader who loved studying scripture.  He was highly esteemed by his family for rescuing us from multiple repair projects gone wrong.  We respected his quiet strength, unwavering perseverance, and faithful love.  He carried authority with kindness, and could speak encouragement that endured with only a few words.

Hurshal was the love of Rosemary's life for 55 years.  He went to be with Jesus on September 4, 2012.

Hurshal is survived by his bride Rosemary, son Keith Powers, daughters Lori (Bruce) Harrer and Sheryl Cane, brothers Bill (Rosemary) Powers and John (Sharon) Powers, 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Carrie Powers, and brother Charles Powers, Jr.

A graveside ceremony will be held at the Warden Cemetery in Warden on Monday, September 10, 11:00 a.m.
