Reader calls for better water quality

| September 7, 2012 6:00 AM

After reading Mick Hansen's full page ad about his accomplishments, since becoming the Chairman of the Board of the MLIRD, we're a little confused. He didn't mention the beneficial programs he has cut, or the poorly thought out, micro-managed decisions he has made, and he didn't mention the current quality of our lake water.

We've lived on the north end of the lake for almost 18 years, and the thick blue/green water on our waterfront this summer resembles what our lake used to look like when we first moved here. When we go into town we can

also see that our end of the lake isn't the only part of the lake affected. Is it Mr. Hansen's intent to return us to the good old days when our lake wasn't fit to recreate in?

Please, Mr. Hansen, listen to the advice of the people who work at the MLIRD and who only want the best for our lake and our community.
