Reader asks citizens to think before voting

| September 7, 2012 6:00 AM

I've been watching our political candidates, especially Mitt Romney, Ryan, and other Republicans candidates, and what they have to say about President Obama. Everyone wants to put blame on the president but they're also to blame because they are elected officials. They also had a say and did nothing. They vote our laws and make financial agreements like the bailouts that later are signed by the president.

There's lots of money being spent by our government officials. Do the people count how much they're spending on vacations, benefits, and GSA, how they spend the people's money? In the end, who really gets the short end of the stick of these back cuts? The elderly, disabled, and poor, even the middle class.

No one can fix the economy in four years. You assume Romney can fix the economy, but he benefitted from selling companies that left a lot of people unemployed. He made profit from banks that sell homes from foreclosures. Romney's statement was that he has nothing to do with what his financial advisors do. That's surely passing the buck.

My father served his country and never received any benefits, and he lost his home in 2003 from these banks that lie. My parents owned their home and it was taken for siding he put on his home. Where's the justice?

People, before you vote, see where you stand and how you're affected. Remember they don't want the rich taxed or benefits cut. We're not all born with money or own a business. Lots of people work all their lives only to get by and to get their Social Security.
