Don Brunell needs to read better, letter writer says

| September 7, 2012 6:00 AM

Mr. Brunell's comments about the Affordable Health Care Act in the Aug. 8 edition need a small correction.

President Obama talked about eliminating Medicare Advantage plans during the debate on the Bill. The reason for eliminating the Advantage plans was because the cost was too great for the same quality of care of regular Medicare.

I switched my mother to an Advantage plan to save her money and found out its limitations. She fell and broke her hip and ended up in a rehab facility. As soon as the rehab reached the point of no progress, she had to be moved. This was a requirement of her Advantage plan.

I haven't read the Affordable Health Care Act, but I have listened to many discussions about the act. Perhaps Mr. Brunell should read the entire plan, and then he wouldn't have to rely on the major newspapers for his information.
