Graciela Tatis Grimaldo

"My soul magnifies the Lord / And my spirit rejoices in God my Savior."

Oracion la Magnifica, The Magnificent Prayer, reflected the grace and spirit of Graciela Tatis Grimaldo, received by the Lord on Saturday, September 1, 2012. Born to Micaela Grimaldo and Antonio Tatis in Panama in 1929, Graciela grew up in Penonome, Panama. She attended Normal School, and in 1955, began teaching Home Economics. Later, in the mid 60s, she earned both a Bachelors and a Masters Degree in Education and served as a Profesora for over 15 years.

Graciela's first love was her family and friends. Blending her Home Economic background with her love of entertaining, she delighted her many friends and family with the handiwork of her creative culinary efforts.

At the time of her passing, Graciela was visiting her daughter and only child, Graciela Dano, of Moses Lake. In addition to her daughter, she is survived by her sister, Himera Kain, and family of Seattle; grandchildren Michele (Juan) Rodriguez, Moses Lake; Adam ( Beth) Dano, Long Beach, CA; Elliot Dano, Pullman, WA; great-grandchildren, Sebastian, Gavyn and Olivia Rodriguez, Moses Lake, and Jonah and Briar Rose Dano of Long Beach, CA, two brothers, Guillermo Tatis and Antonio Tatis, a sister Judith Tatis and many nephews and nieces in Panama. She is also survived by her long time companion, Ivan Tejeira, Penonome, Panama.

A celebration Memorial Mass will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Moses Lake, WA at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 7, 2012. Memorials may be made to Assured Hospice, 1417 S.
