Ray R. Lopez

Ray R. Lopez, 92, a longtime Moses Lake resident passed away Thursday, October 25, 2012 at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane. Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 5, 2012 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 200 N. Dale Rd., Moses Lake. Please sign the online guestbook at www.kayserschapel.com. Ray was born on January 1, 1920 in Pearsall, Texas, son of the late Gregorio and Marcelina Lopez. He was raised and educated in Texas moving to Othello in 1960. In 1974 he married Agnes Taylor and they moved to Moses Lake where they have lived since. Together Ray and Agnes owned and operated Lopez Apartments in Cascade Valley. Besides running apartments, Ray enjoyed building and was known as a "peace maker". Ray loved spending time with family and friends and will always be remembered as a caring and loving father and friend (there wasn't anyone he wouldn't give a dollar to or help). He was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church.

He is survived by his loving wife, Agnes; 7 children, Esperanza, Leve, Marie Esther, Viola, Juanita, Dianna and Sylvia ; 3 step-children, Toni Cavazos, Marla Sam and Gary Storer; 3 grandchildren Chester Hill, Benjamin Hill and Jennica Sam; 1 great granddaughter, Mallory Rene Lee Hill (the apple of his eye); 4 brothers, Richard, Manuel, Ralph and David; 1 sister, Mary; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren in Texas.
