Robert E. Nasburg

Dr. Robert E. Nasburg, 65, of Palos Verdes Estates, CA, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2012, surrounded by close friends at U.C.L.A. Medical Hospital in Los Angeles, CA, after fighting a long battle with heart disease. Robert "Bob" was born December 1, 1946, in Ephrata, WA to Edwin and Margaret Nasburg. He attended K-12 in Ephrata, WA, graduating from high school in 1965. Bob went on to Washington State University, studying Electrical Engineering in 1975. Bob then moved to Dallas, TX to teach Electrical Engineering at Southern Methodist University. After several years of teaching, he went to work for Texas instruments in their Aero-Space division. In 1985, he moved to Los Angeles, CA to work for Hughes Aerospace and while at Hughes, he met and worked with other engineers, who would become very close friends and were lifelong friends right up to the day of his death. About 1998, he then went to work for AEROSPACE, working closely with the U.S. Department of Defense. Bob and his close associates worked on and developed many things that helped make this nation a military superior and a safer world for all of us to live. Bob also held a number of different patents and wrote a number of books on specialized engineering technologies. He will be missed by all of us.

Bob is survived by a brother, William Nasburg of Ephrata, WA; a sister, Margaret Patry of Ephrata, WA; nephew, Andrew Patry (wife, Katie) of Ellensburg, WA; nephew, Captain Edwin Patry of the U.S.A.F. in Clovis, NM; and niece, Margaret E. Snyder (husband, Josh) of Pasco, WA. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ted and Effie Nasburg of Spokane, WA, and William "Billy" and Maude Clapp of Ephrata, WA; an aunt, Sara S. Clapp of Spokane, WA; and his parents, Edwin and Margaret Nasburg of Ephrata, WA.

At Bob's request, there will be a Private Celebration of his Life held in Los Angeles, CA, at a later date.
