Grant County, Washington has been awarded federal funds in the amount of $41,103 under the Emergency Food & Shelter National Board Program.

Grant County, Washington has been awarded federal funds in the amount of $41,103 under the Emergency Food & Shelter National Board Program.

A Local Board comprised of nine non-profit and governmental organizations will determine how the funds awarded to Grant County are to be distributed among the emergency food and shelter programs run by local service providers in the county.

Under the terms of the grant from the National Board, local organizations chosen to receive funds must: 1) be private voluntary non-profit organizations or units of government, 2) be eligible to receive federal funds, 3) have an accounting system, 4) practice nondiscrimination, 5) have demonstrated the capability to deliver emergency food and/or shelter programs, and 6) if a private voluntary organization, have a voluntary board. Qualifying organizations are encouraged to apply.

Please contact Kim Husted, Local Board Coordinator, at 509-754-2011 ext. 385 to obtain a funding application and instructions. The deadline for applications to be received is 11:30am on November 1, 2012.
