Larry Coleman

Larry Coleman, Sandy resident, passed away suddenly October 10, 2012 following surgery. He was 72.

Larry was born in Ainsworth, Nebraska on September 5, 1940 to Clarence and Marjorie (Sybrant) Coleman. At the age of 3 weeks, the family moved to Idaho where Larry grew up. In 1957, Larry married his first wife Barbara and had four children. They later divorced. Joining the Army in 1960, Larry served 20 years and was stationed in many foreign countries, including 2 tours in Vietnam. In 1976 Larry was assigned to Portland Oregon where he met his wife of 36 years Lois Popelka. After retiring in 1981, Larry worked for Omark Industries (later Blount) until retiring in 2001.

Larry is survived by his wife, children David, Gloria, Kathy and Diana all of Missouri. Brad (Christina) of Des Moines, WA; Brian (Christa) of Sandy, sisters Jean Simpson (Arnie) of Moses Lake, WA and Ida Knutson of Arizona. Pop-Pop will be especially missed by his best buddy, grandson Aiden.

A graveside service will be held at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland with Military Honors on Friday, October 19, 2012 at 9:30 a.m.
