Reader unhappy with new car purchase

| October 19, 2012 6:00 AM

When I read the article in the Herald about the Moses Lake Police Department buying new Chevrolets made in Australia, I was astonished.

I thought our Government encouraged us to "Buy American," and keep jobs at home, and then I find out that Chevrolet, which is still partially owned by our Government, is building autos in a foreign country for export to the U.S. At least Toyota, Honda, and other foreign-owned companies are building them in this country.

The hypocrisy of the current administration is incredible! I suppose I should be happy they weren't built in China.
