Pianist to perform at CWU

ELLENSBURG - Guest pianist Ian Houghton will perform a free recital of modern works by Pierre Boulez and John Adams in the Jerilyn McIntyre Music Building Recital Hall on Thursday, October 25 at 7 p.m.

Houghton will also perform selections from the Etudes of Claude Debussy.

Houghton has been a soloist and chamber musician at the University of Arizona's Contemporary Music Festival and the Contemporary Music Festival at the Conservatorio del las Rosas in Morelia, Mexico.

Houghton was named a Medici Scholar by the University of Arizona in 2011 and most recently received the Creative Achievement Award for his film project created in conjunction with John Adams' Phrygian Gates.
