MOSES LAKE – The Cattle Producers of Washington annual meeting here on Friday, Oct. 26, will include an update on the CPoW Livestock Processors Cooperative Association, which owns and operates a meat processing plant at Odessa.

The meeting will be held at the Pillar Rock Grill at 1373 Road F.2 NE. There are two tickets – all day (9-9) and evening (5-9). Both allow admission to a prime rib dinner and entertainment.

You may call CPoW publicist Teresa King at 632-5358 to learn about the tickets. They will be available at the door.

The entertainment, at 7:30 p.m., will be provided by ranching humorist Krayton Kerns, whose connection to ranching is his work as a veterinarian.

“He's really funny,” King said. “He tells a lot of good stories.”

Kerns is the owner of Beartooth Veterinarian Service, an outfitter, a pilot and a Montana state representative.

Kerns has written “Ramblings of a Conservative Cow Doctor.”

The conference will start at 9 a.m. with a welcoming address by President Nate Hair. Patti Brumbach will give a Washington Beef Commission update at 9:05. A trade show will get under way at 11:45.

At 1:00, 1:30 and 2:45 there will be talks about wolf issues. The Trail Rider Award will be made at 7:00. There will be a live auction at 7:10.
