Cancer Foundation receives $15,000

MOSES LAKE - A recent donation from a local business will make an "enormous difference to the health of the (Columbia Basin) Foundation."

Brotherton Seed Company donated $15,000 to the foundation, which provides services to cancer patients undergoing treatment. "They are our biggest single contributor," said Angel Kneedler, the foundation's director. "It is through the contributions of companies like this that the foundation is able to be a viable resource for cancer patients," she said.

The foundation helps cancer patients with expenses, things like gas and merchandise cards, lodging, or wigs for people who have lost hair through treatment. "A lot of the little things that people don't think about when you're going through cancer treatment," Kneedler said. "Any of those little expenses that add up real fast."

A member of the Brotherton family is a breast cancer survivor, so the family knows the challenges faced by cancer patients, she said. They know about the foundation, she said, and the work it does firsthand.
