OTHELLO - Josiah Petersen rushed for 83 yards and scored two touchdowns to help lead No. 1 ranked Othello to a 34-0 home win over Ellensburg Friday.

The game was close at the onset as the Huskies put seven points on the board on a 17-yard run by quarterback David Garza (Miguel Gonzalez kick) to go up 7-0 in the first quarter.

But Othello got two scores in the second 12 minutes of play on a 62-yard touchdown run by Eric Garza and a 1-yard dash by Petersen (both kicks good) to race out to a 21-0 halftime lead.

The Bulldogs and Huskies failed to score in the third quarter of action. But a 5-yard pass from David Garza to Justin Lind and a 1-yard run by Petersen, his second score of the game and two successful PAT's in the final 12 minutes of action pushed the score to 34-0 in favor of Othello.

Petersen lead the ground attack for the Huskies as he carried the rock 22 times for 83 yards. Eric Garza finished with 73 yards on four carries.
