ROYAL CITY - It was a tough week last week Royal High School volleyball. Warden took a SCAC East match in three games, and Ritzville took a three-game non-league contest.

Only one of the six games was close. Royal and Warden were tied at 17-all in their first game.

"Then we could not do much with the ball," coach Paul Olsufka said. "Not much to say, just cannot put it all together."

The Warden loss was by scores of 18-25, 12-25 and 12-25. Tahlia Ledezma had nine assists and three kills, Tonya Iverson had six kills, and Kayla Smith had five digs and two blocks.

The loss to Ritzville was by scores of 9-25, 15-25 and 13-25, and there were few highlights. There were only 35 total serves over the three games.

"It is time to see what we are made of and see if we are going to be competitive in the second half of the season," Olsufka said. "We're hoping to get back to playing better as a team."
