MOSES LAKE - The Moses Lake volleyball team is having one of its most successful seasons in recent memory as the Chiefs chalked up their fifth league win Thursday.

Moses Lake had little trouble dispatching the visitors from Sunnyside winning in three sets (25-11, 25-15, 25-20), and are now 5-1 in the CBBN and 6-1 overall.

"Its a pretty awesome feeling," coach Amy Utter said. "The girls are playing really well right now."

The win over the Grizzlies put Moses Lake at the top of the league standings.

The Chiefs only loss of the year came at the hands of the Wenatchee Panthers Sept. 27.

Leading the offensive attack against Sunnyside was Sadie Nielsen who recorded 15 kills and 16 digs.

Setter Kenzie Fancher dished out 30 assists, outside hitter Briana Valdez added seven kills and seven digs, and libero Taylor Sonnenberg finished with 22 digs.

Moses Lake traveled to Spokane over the weekend to take part in a 64-team tournament, but the results were unavailable at press time.

The Chiefs are back on the court tomorrow when the team travels to Eastmont to match up with the Wildcats.
