Warden volleyball turns back Royal

ROYAL - Iris Rodriguez had 20 kills, and 10 digs, Aaliyah Enriguez added 10 kills, and Narcy Guerra finished 23-for-23 from the serve line with three aces and had 13 digs to lead the Cougars to a three set (25-18, 25-10, 25-12) league win over the Knights Sept. 27.

The victory for Warden improves the teams' record to 4-2 in the 1A SCAC East Conference and 5-2 overall.

"Our team played with more focus and intensity against Royal than we did against Columbia Burbank on Tuesday. A much better effort by everyone, " coach Dennis Treat said. "This concludes the first half of the league season for us. We have Tuesday off, and our next match is Thursday against Ki-Be High School."

Other Cougars whose performances was worthy of note are Abby Richins who had three kills, 19 assists, and six digs.

Hannah Bisnett contributed nine kills, five stuff blocks, and was 16 of 17 serving.

Haley Yamane had 19 assists and libero Bianca Hernandez finished with 16 digs.
