Samaritan shares gratitude for donations

| November 30, 2012 5:00 AM

On behalf of Samaritan Healthcare, please allow me take this opportunity to thank you for your participation in the 12th annual Samaritan Healthcare Turkey & Canned Food Drive to benefit the Moses Lake Food Bank.

The generosity of our local community is confirmed each year when we look at the numbers. In excess of 1,000 individuals and businesses donated in one form or another to this event to benefit our local community.

Here is the tale of the turkey:

- 261 turkeys were bought and donated by the public;

- 432 pre-bagged $10 bags of canned goods;

- Yet unknown number of pounds of canned food and other food items;

- 8,845.00 in cash & checks were mailed in and/or given to our volunteers. The Moses Lake Food Bank will use all cash donations to purchase additional food products that are in short supply.

This event could not have been successful without the support of our sponsors, and specifically the display ads and feature story in the Columbia Basin Herald. And the t-shirts that the Herald coordinated were a big hit too!

Again, thank you for supporting this event that benefits our local community.
