SANDPOINT - The Freedom Wrestling Academy traveled to Sandpoint, Idaho over the Veterans Day weekend to take part in the North Idaho Panhandle Championships. Nine wrestlers made the trip, and all placed in their weight classification.

"We entered the tournament knowing the competition was going to be nothing less then above average," Jeff Janke said. "Matt (Janke) and Mark (Janke) were very proud of the way their wrestlers battled at the tournament. They not only wrestled with the keep moving forward attitude, but were in their teammates corner encouraging each wrestler to do their best. The Academy wrestlers are really coming together not only as teammates, but as a family as well."

Placing first in their weight class at the tournament were Hunter Garland-Cruz , Everett Ashley, Cyrus Knoll, Isaiah Medina and Cael Castro.

Karson Voss finished second, Carson Janke took third, Gabe Medina was fourth, and Christian Knopp placed fifth in the competition.

The Freedom Academy wrestlers will be headed to Liberty Lake Saturday to take part in the Bigfoot Tournament.
