Thomas M. Ferguson, Jr.

Thomas M. Ferguson, Jr., 78, of Othello, went home to the Lord on November 5, 2012. He was born in Lamar, Missouri on August 28, 1934 to Thomas M. and Mildred (Fabian) Ferguson. He was the middle of three boys. Thomas graduated from Hawaii High School. In 1951, he joined the Navy and served in the Korean War. He joined his oldest brother on board ship. They were the first brothers to serve together during war-time since the O'Sullivan brothers of WWII. In 1955, Thomas re-enlisted and joined the Navy's submarine school. He was then stationed in Puerto Rico until he was discharged in 1957.

On April 8, 1963, Thomas married Elizabeth J. Duncan. Thomas worked for Hanford as a pipe fitter. He enjoyed rock hunting and cars. After retiring, Thomas and Elizabeth traveled all of the Western states and did a great deal of rock hunting. In 2002, the Ferguson's began working as hosts for campgrounds in Washington and Oregon. They enjoyed this until Thomas's health no longer allowed them that freedom.

Thomas was preceded in death by his mother and father, one brother, Clifford, and his beloved in-laws, Ed and Louise Duncan.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth, of Othello, children Pamela Ferguson of Portland, OR, Micheal and Kim Ferguson of Cheyenne, WY, Lyle Ferguson of Fairfield, CA, Lee Ferguson of Othello, Tommy and Ling Farris in California, Gary and Joni Farris of Seattle, Wally and Amber Farris of Moses Lake, and Thomas and Melissa Farris of Prosser, 5 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, a brother, Winn Ferguson of Kennewick, and many nieces and nephews.
