OLYMPIA - Washington's 12th Legislative district saw half of a shake up Tuesday as Brad Hawkins, R-Wenatchee, unseated incumbent Mike Armstrong.

Rep. Cary Condotta, R-East Wenatchee, continues to represent the district after defeating Stan Morse, a Chelan lawyer who ran against him. Linda Evans Parlette, the district's state senator, easily won re-election after running unopposed.

"I'm thrilled," Condotta said. "I mean, gosh, we didn't spend a lot of money ... and it paid off," he said.

With newly drawn districts after the last census, the 12th Legislative district envelops Grant County from Soap Lake up to Coulee Dam.

Condotta is the ranking minority member on the House Labor and Workforce Development Committee, and also serves on the House Business & Government Services and the State Government & Tribal Affairs committees.

In the state's 9th Legislative district, state Senator Mark Schoesler, R-Ritzville; and state Reps. Susan Fagan, R-Pullman, and Joe Schmick, R-Colfax, all ran unopposed.
