Moses Lake man killed by car

MOSES LAKE - A 47-year-old Moses Lake man was struck by a car and killed Wednesday night, while attempting to run across the street.

He is identified as Gary C. Kilpatrick, of Moses Lake.

According to a state patrol release, the incident occurred on the 1400 block of West Broadway Avenue at 9:48 p.m.

The driver of a 2012 Jeep SUV was traveling east on West Broadway Avenue, when Kilpatrick ran across westbound lanes and the center turn lane into the vehicle's path.

The driver is identified as 25-year-old Tye R.C. Sheats, of Port Angeles. He was wearing a seat belt and was not injured during the incident.

Sheats remained on the scene, and state patrol officers do not anticipate any charges. According to the patrol, the driver showed no signs of impairment.
