Trying the hobo life

| November 2, 2012 6:00 AM

QUINCY – Three runaway juveniles from Idaho, on an apparent hobo adventure, were found here on a train last week and returned home.

The Quincy Police Department was notified by Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad Police on Oct. 16 that they had a report of trespassers on the train westbound toward Quincy.

BNSF police advised Quincy police the train would be stopping in Quincy and requested that local officers investigate.

The train, which had several platform cars with shipping containers, arrived at about 7 a.m. A search was conducted, and three 17-year-old juvenile males were located on a platform car.

All three were confirmed to have ran away from an academy in Idaho. They were very cold from the train ride which began in Spokane earlier in the morning.

All three were returned to Idaho.
