The closest, dearest friendship in Bob's life was the heart link between Bob and his Lord Jesus Christ. Through the whole length of Bob's life from salvation at 16 years to age 77, he loved to talk about what the Lord Jesus was up to, and he spent hours with eyes half-closed with pleasure, just to be together communing with Him. When found awake at night he would often say "God woke me up to talk to me."

Bob was a journeyman machinist by trade, and at age 21, he became Boeing's youngest supervisor. He helped smaller machine shops become Boeing-compliant and served as accrediting inspector. He and his sons Ric and Terry excelled as powerboat racers, holding world records, and he served in national office as head of the American Power Boat Association's Modified category. Each Christmas he built another race boat.

He owned 28+ acres in Sedro Woolley , WA, which he stocked with ducks, geese, beef cattle, goats, horses along with the smallmouth bass, eagles and coyotes that came along. He delighted in feeding the ducks each morning at the edge of the 7-acre boat-testing lake that he dug with his D-7. He enjoyed telling stories and laughing about the antics of the livestock.

Those awaiting the day they will be reunited with him include sons Ric, Terry and Alex, daughters Debbie and Lori, and wife Jodi, and special family friend Kim Churchman, and many more friends.
