Moses Lake accountant receives award

MOSES LAKE - A Moses Lake accountant is the recipient of an award from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).

Kiely Strohmaier, an accountant with the firm CliftonLarsonAllen in Moses Lake, received the AICPA's Elijah Watt Sells Award.

The award recognizes CPA candidates who obtain a cumulative average score above 95.50 across all four sections of the Uniform CPA Examination, complete testing during the previous calendar year, and pass all four sections of the examination on their first attempt.

Strohmaier joined CLA in January 2012, and is a staff accountant in the Moses Lake office. She is a graduate of the University of Washington with a bachelor's degree in business administration and Gonzaga University with a master's degree in accountancy. She is a native of Lind and currently lives in Moses Lake.

The Elijah Watt Sells Award was established by the AICPA to recognize outstanding performance on the Uniform CPA Examination. Thirty-seven of more than 90,000 candidates who sat for the exam in 2011 received the award.
